Description
The Haynes Automobile Company produced automobiles from 1893 to 1928 in Kokomo, Indiana. The model in this photograph may be a Winton Six, "the originial self cranking car". The year 1914 is on the far right of the license plate. Note the patch on the bottom of the front tire and the spare tire fastened to the side of the car. The running board also holds both a box of repair equipment and an air pump. The bridge is a steel truss design that became standardized after 1900. This one is of a vintage that the roadway is covered with wood planks. Verso: Front seat Father Looney, brother behind, going rabbit shooting -- the rabbit is not in the back seat! D. F. Lane.
