Description
A 1915 Bungalow style duplex, 131-133 West Palm Avenue, Orange, California, August, 2003. Image shows a single-story clapboard bungalow with single front-facing gabled roof. The main roof extends forward to form a full-width porch that is supported by tapered piers atop wooden bases. The lowere foundation wall and half-piers near the porch stoop are also of brick. Double entry doors are in the center, with fixed windows and side lights on each side. The residence was designed and constructed by Orange Contracting and Milling Company for Edward B. Metcalf. A photograph of the home is on page 48 in the brochure promoting the Orange Contracting and Milling Company, "Beautiful Orange Homes" produced in the 1920s. The duplex was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. 3000 x 2000 pixels
