Description
Part of the Bear Valley Ranch, Marin County, California, circa 1945. From 1943 through 1949, the property was operated by Eugene C. Compton, as a dairy ranch. Compton also staged rodeos in an arena he built for that purpose. The "W" or Bear Valley Ranch site became the park headquarters for the Point Reyes National Seashore, which was established in 1963.
