The map depicts the area between Marguerite Parkway, O'Neill Road, and Playa Del Norte. O'Neill is represented at the top of the map, Marguerite Parkway on the left, and Playa Del Norte on the right. O'Neill Road was later named Olympiad Road in commemoration of this Olympic event. Portions of the staging area are labeled with text; others are labeled with a number that refers to a list on the left hand side of the map. The areas on the map that are referenced in the list are: ABC Platform, Camera Platform, Commentators, Scoreboard, Awards Podium, Protest Desk, Judges Platform, Announcers, Camera on Crane, College of Commissaires, Timing and Scoring, Photo Fin Tower, Bleachers, Concession, ABC Interview Zone, Ambulance, Doping, Health Services, MED Radio Base Station, Accomodations, VIP, Judges & Off. Lounge, Sports Comp. Mgmt., Communication Center, Venue Management, Staff Lounge, Security, Tech. Results, Technology, Press OP Center, Interview Room, Parking, Food Truck, Material Storage, ABC Compound, Shade Structure. Some areas of the map that are not mentioned in the list are: MVC Bleachers, MVC Hospitality Area, MVC VIP Access Parking, and the Start/Finish line. In the areas mentioned above that are prefaced with "ABC," it is assumed that "ABC" is referring to the television network that was broadcasting the event.
