Description
An interior photograph of the Brand Library reading room taken sometime during its opening year in 1956. The Brand Library is the art and music section of the Glendale Public Library. The decorative window, alcove and woodwork are the original decorative features of this room. The window is a large fixed glass with a cusped ogee-arched leaded-glass transom. Carved Corinthian columns and a lintel frame the opening of the alcove. The columns support an elaborately carved arch, which frames the window. The Brand Library was once the home of Leslie C. Brand, and this room was originally the dining room. Title supplied by cataloger.
