Portrait of James Miller Guinn, Anaheim school principal who arrived in Anaheim in 1869 and in 1877 drafted legislation authorizing the school district to issue bonds in the amount of $10,000 to build the two-story school (where George Washington School later stood); image shows a bust-length view of Mr. Guinn with a beard, wearing a dark jacket, white shirt and dark bow tie; handwritten below the portrait "James Miller Guinn, 1870."
