Description
The May Festival, which began in 1933 and also included the May Day Parade, continued to be held until 1991. Image shows float decorated as a wedding cake with Darlene Harms and Erich Vollmer dressed as a bride and groom standing under archway. A man on motorcyle follows the float. "PERKIN'S BAKERY" is written across end of float, which is on the 100 block of South Glassell Street. Visible at the right is the Plaza Theater. Behind the float is the Jewel Shop and Lois's Beauty Salon, with Perkins Bakery and a small shoe shop at far left.
