Description
May Day Parade, Orange, California, May, 1950. Image shows four firemen pulling an old ladder wagon with their wives riding on the top, around the northwest side of Plaza Square. Identified left to right are Ernest Hagen, Charles Pister, Bob Perkins, and Ernest Unzelman. At far left the Coronet 5-10-25 Cent Store and a small portion of North Glassell Street are visible. In the background at right is the First National Bank. Palm trees line the square. The May Festival, which began in 1933 and also included the May Day Parade, continued to be held until 1991.
