The image depicts commerical establishments along the south side of East 14th Street between 46th and 47th Avenues at the time of the annexation of the area into the City of Oakland. It shows the Melrose Realty Company (4612 East 14th Street), Melrose Central Creamery, Gents' Furnishing and Shoes and William Schoenning's market and saloon at 4700 East 14th Street.
