Description
Pass for Dan Totheroh's 1928 Mountain Play, Flamenca. Totheroh was affiliated with the Mountain Play Association for many years, early on working as an actor. He left the organization for a time to pursue a career on Broadway, where, in 1928 he wrote Flamenca especially for the Mountain Theater. In 1957 he returned to the Bay Area and the Mountain Play Association as a playwright and director. The Mountain Play Association began its annual production in an outdoor amphitheater on top of Mount Tamalpais, Marin County, in 1913. Shows run for several weekends, beginning each May. This item is from a collection of scrapbooks, deposited with the California Room in 1975, by Mountain Play Association Director, Marion Hayes Cain.
