Description
Color slide of the family room and portion of the kitchen in a Minimum Energy Dwelling in Mission Viejo, California in 1976. Two Cordova homes were used in the Minimum Energy Dwelling Project that was organized by Energy Research Development Administration (ERDA), Southern California Gas Company, Mission Viejo Company, and Burt Hill Kosar Rittelmann Associates. The family room and kitchen have vaulted ceilings. One of the family room walls is covered in wood paneling; there is also a bookcase on this wall and a doorway that leads into a hall. To the left of the hall doorway is a sideboard, coat rack, and entrance to the kitchen. The photograph captures the dark cabinets, sink, dishwasher, and stove in the kitchen; its walls are wallpapered. The frame of the slide has a label that reads, "76-006, Frame 011." The word "interior" is written on the frame.
