Description
Three young women working on the switchboard at Sunset Telephone Company (absorbed in 1915 by the Pacific Telephone Company) located at, 124 South Orange Street, Orange, California, located in the back of Watson's Drug Store (118 East Chapman Avenue). A.L. Tomblin stands in the back, observing the operation. The operators, left to right, are: Elsie Clough, Jessie Warner, Beatrice Dyer. Etched glass window in background reads (in reverse) "PUBLIC STATION / LONG DISTANCE TELEPHONE.".
