Picture of Houghton Elementary School, built ca. 1890 near the intersection of Whitesbridge Road and West Lawn Avenue, near Fresno, Calif., and later demolished. Western Stick architectural style. The Houghton District was created in 1887, later merged with the Kearney District in 1949 and was thereafter known as Houghton-Kearney. The new district later became incorporated into the Central Unified School District.
