Description
From the Charles Henry Geer photo album series that depicts a promotion held to sell land in Turlock, California, circa 1907. A band marches from East Main Street across the railroad tracks to West Main Street as part of the festivities of a big land sale promotion. A banner is stretched across the street with both Turlock and Irwin City printed on it. W. A. irwin promoted an area south of Turlock which he named Irwin City. The Turlock Hotel is visible on the left. Note that American flags are flying from each window of the building on the right.
