Description
Front of the Orange Public Library, 407 East Chapman Avenue, Orange, California, ca. 1910. The Carnegie Library, designed by architect Cornelius B. Bradshaw (d. 1932), opened in 1908 and was demolished in 1961. Postcard image shows corner view of the classical revival structure from across the street, with front steps flanked by lamp posts and "PUBLIC LIBRARY" over entranceway. Newly planted landscaping visible around building. Photo printed in white ink in lower left corner with "J742 PUBLIC LIBRARY, ORANGE, CAL." and in lower right corner, "J. BOWERS PHOTO CO. / LONG BEACH--LOS ANGELES CAL."
