Description
Bird writes about his concern over the treatment of Japanese Americans, noting that while there are some Japanese "unfriendly" to America, the vast majority are loyal. Bird describes the uncomfortable conditions in camps and fears that such conditions may breed hostility. He also points out the side effects of the sweeping policy of evacuation, such as rise in price of produce and the immigration of Mexicans to compensate for the loss of labor.
