Between Torrington and Van Tassel. Eastern edge of Wyoming north of Cheyenne. Fossil fearing buttes - high plains of E. Wyoming Plains 4 to 5 thousand ft. elevation. In this butte strata of hard and of chalky limestone which bear the fossils found camel bones here. Toward the top a strata of volcanic ash, water deposited, several ft. in thickness. Deposits of (?) locally. No trees in these plains except by streams where cottonwoods grow
