View from the deck of the Abbey Hotel located at Rowan Way and Marguerite, Mill Valley, California, circa 1922. The Abbey Hotel was built by Miss Abbey Howe in 1900. Early on, the Mountain Railway stopped at the foot of the street. The scene of frequent parties on Saturday evenings, the hotel could accommodate 75 guests and included a tennis court and recreation hall. It was destroyed by fire in 1929.
