Description
Color slide of a lady and girl standing at the Illinois State table during the 1976 Fourth of July picnic celebration in Mission Viejo, California. Tables were set up for different U.S. states, and Mission Viejo residents from those states would register for the July 4th picnic there. The lady and girl are talking with a man and woman who are sitting at the table. There are two signs projecting up from the table. One of the signs has a silhouette of the state of Illinois in the middle of it; at the top of the state is the word "Illinois," across the state is the word "Welcome." There are three illustrations on the sign; one of them is a portrait of Abraham Lincoln. The other sign has red, white, and blue vertical letters that spell the word "Illinois." In the background are many groups of men, women, and children standing and sitting on a large expanse of lawn. On the frame of the slide is a label that reads, " 76-023, Frame 027."
