Description
Adams describes the resettlement of 20,000 Japanese from California to the Colorado River Indian Reservation. She requests Bird be on an educational advisory committee that will facilitate communication between the Indian Services in Washington, the "Japanese colonists," and the educational program in California. Adams further explains that with the advice from the Committee, educational programs will be tailored for the evacuees to resemble California school programs. The letter also discusses possible provisions for adult education and overall self-sustaining program by employing capable Japanese people wherever possible.
