San Jacinto Battlegrounds. This monument marks the location of Santa Anna camp which is located about a mi. & a half east of Buffalo Bayou & about 200 yd. back of where you now stand to the spot where Col. Sam Houston's horse was shot out from under him, resulting in a broken ankle. Located about half way between this monument and that of Houston's camp has been constructed an artificial cake in the shape of the map of Texas. #15
