Description
This photo was taken at the time of the razing of the Berkeley Public Library Carnegie building in 1929. It was replaced by the current library building at the same site (corner of Shattuck Avenue and Kittredge Street). The sign in front reads: "LIBRARY CLOSED FEB 20th / TEMPORARY LOCATION MARCH 1st / 2069 UNIVERSITY AVE / Juvenile Dept 1956 University Ave."
