Description
Burnham House, "A Country Home, " Orange, California. Colored postcard image shows Burnham House, located at 460 South Batavia Street, surrounded by lush landscaping. Built in 1891 by William H. Burnham, president of the National Bank of Orange, as his family residence. The house was originally named "Su Casa" ["Your House"], and was purchased in 1922 by the Order of St. Joseph. It was demolished in May, 1972 as a fire and safety hazard.
