Accession number: P117 St. Catherine's Orphanage, designed by Gustav Benrend of San Francisco, built in 1889 and located in the 200 block of North Palm Street (now Harbor Blvd.) on the west side of the street; Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine's began taking in orphans in 1894; later became St. Catherine's Military Academy; image shows 10 boys standing on front steps of three-story brick building, with large trees in the foreground.
