Accession number: P264 & 264X Photograph from Minnie Steinhart. Center Street, looking east; image shows Planters Hotel with horse-drawn carriage in front at far left, the second hotel located at the northwest corner of Center Street and Los Angeles Street (now Anaheim Blvd.); built within six months after the previous Planters Hotel, originally constructed by John Fischer in 1865, burned down in 1871; the second structure was also lost to fire in 1890; two figures are visible in center background, and at right are businesses of M. Calisher and City Meat Market
