City of Santa Ana Tournament of Roses Rose Parade "Paradise of the Golden West" float for Santa Ana, 1948. "Santa Ana took First Prize in its class with its float entitled 'Paradise of the Golden West' which included 3,500 rosees, 1000 birds of paradise and an acacia tree in full bloom. Miss Ruth Raymond, a 19-year old Santa Ana resident, was the float queen." A large crowd is in the background as the float passes by.
