Description
The poster features a black/white photograph of a man sitting down while reading a newspaper inside a kitchen. The text states, "Photography Classes, taught by Chris Huie, starts October 1988, free. Beginning black & white photography, Friday - 6:30 pm to 10 pm: Basic course in camera techniques, lenses, types of b & w films available, film development, darkroom procedures, photographic design and composition along with critiques of student work. Advanced black and white photography, Monday - 6;30 pm to 10 pm: For intermediate students who want to expand their photographic abilities and aesthetic awareness. Instruction includes advanced camera techniques, use of flash studio lighting, controlled film development, quality print making, retouching along with critique sessions. Beginning color photography, Monday - 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm: Students will learn basics of camera-work, lenses, color films available, fundamentals of design and composition and critiques of student work will be allowed. Photography forum, Sunday - 6:30 pm to 10 pm: Designed for beginning and advanced photographers to share past and ongoing visual projects. Group feedback and comments will be offered to develop and expand the photographer's concepts along with discussion of presentational methods. Chris is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology and New York University. His awards include a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in photography; a Martin Luther King Jr. Fellowship in Historyl a Rockefeller Fellow in Museum Education and Community Studies; a California Arts Council Artist in Residence and a finalist in Photo Metro's 1988 National Photography Entry.
