Description
May Day Parade with Perkins Bakery float, Orange, California, May, 1949. Image shows float decorated as a wedding cake with Darlene Harms and Erich Vollmer dressed as bride and groom standing under archway. "PERKIN'S BAKERY" is written across end of float, which is at the corner of East Chapman Avenue and South Pine Street. Visible behind the float is the Immanual Lutheran Church. The front of the float is facing north. The May Festival, which began in 1933 and also included the May Day Parade, continued to be held until 1991.
