Description: On behalf of Mrs. Roosevelt, Bryan replies to Engberg's letter [see Engberg's letter Dbase #076]. Bryan states that the "policy of the War Department in regard to the payment of evacuees has not been finally determined." He further writes, "You are assured that any evacuation or removal of aliens will be conducted in as humane a manner as possible under the circumstances of the war emergency."
