Description
975 PALM CANYON, PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA
Palm Canyon, near Palm Springs, is the site of a magnificent grove of California Fan palms, the only native date palm of Western United States. These trees are thought to be the remains of the Tropical Age, and are estimated to be between 1500 and 2000 years old. Though fire has swept through this grove, which extends for seven miles up the canyon, the trees still continue to flourish and present one of the grandest spectacles of the Southwest.
