For this early example of property seen from the air, it is most probable that the Green family chartered the plane and paid a photographer to capture their land on film. Perhaps they were interested in selling the land and knew that an aerial photograph would show the extent of their holdings, or maybe the Greens wanted the picture as a keepsake, hung with pride in the family den or over the fireplace mantle.
