Description
A cloud of smoke is billowing up across Richardson's Bay as the Mill Valley fire of 1929 rages. The photo is taken from Sausalito. The fire was the most devastating on record, sweeping over the slopes of Mount Tamalpais. The wind was blowing from the northwest, pushing the flames towards Mill Valley. The wind later shifted saving downtown, but over 100 homes burned in the fire.
