Description
Photograph of Higuera Adobe built by Jose Higuera who was granted Rancho Los Tularcitos in 1821. It was probably built in the 1830s although it was much altered by the time this photograph was taken. Part of the original adobe construction can be seen by the stairway on the left. The wooden second story was added in the 1860s when the adobe served briefly as a hotel. The second story was removed in the 1950s. The adobe was reconstructed in the 1990s and is now located in Higuera Adobe Park in Milpitas.
