Description
Front of the Orange Public Library, 407 East Chapman Avenue, Orange, California in 1909. The Carnegie Library, designed by architect Cornelius B. Bradshaw (d. 1932), opened in 1908 and was demolished in 1961. Hand-colored postcard image shows facade of the classical revival structure, with front steps flanked by lamp posts and "PUBLIC LIBRARY" over entranceway. Stamped in upper right in red ink with "Public Library, Orange, Calif." Printed on reverse with "M. Rieder, Publ. Los Angeles, Cal. No. 7820. Made in Germany" [See also DC216]
