The Silk Road Art Troupe visited Berkeley in 1982. With 110 members drawn from among the many ethnic groups of China, this was the largest Chinese dance group ever to visit America. Its full-length dance drama On the Silk road tells a story of what was once the main overland trade route between China, the Middle East and Europe.
