Description
South Glassell Street looking north toward Plaza Square, Orange, California, 1909. Image shows view up unpaved South Glassell, streetcar tracks visible down the center, with a trolleycar visible in the background at the plaza. Bicycles, buggys and early automobiles line the businesses along the street. At the far right is the first location for Dittmer's Mission Pharmacy (131 South Glassell Street), on the north side of it is Peterkin's Restaurant (127 South Glassell Street), Orange City Garage (123 South Glassell Street). At the end of the block, the new location for Dittmer's Mission Pharmacy is indicated by a "DRUGS" sign on the overhang. Across the street on the far left is signage for "F.E. HALLMAN & CO DRY GOODS STORE", the "EHLEN & GROTE COMPANY" (101-109 South Glassell Street) general merchandise and a dentist located in an office on the second floor.
