Groundbreaking for the Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital, Chancellor Emil M. Mrak turns a shovel of earth at a symbolic ground breaking for a new Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital on the campus. The structure, seen in the background, was begun last summer, but ceremonies observing the construction were held in conjunction with the Spring Veterinary Conference on March 21. Dean William R. Pritchard is at the podium. Representatives of the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine, the veterinary profession, and the state legislature took part in the brief ceremony. The hospital is the first unit in the health sciences complex site, the southwest area of the campus
