Viticulture and Enology, how Thompson Seedless grapes thrive when fed a minute amount of gibberellin is shown in this picture taken at a recent meeting of vineyardists on the Davis campus of the University of California. Robert J. Weaver is showing R.B. Bahme of Berkeley the effect of a medium strength dose of 20 parts gibberellin to a million parts water. The compound may eventually replace girdling as a method of enlarging grape size. Weaver's experiments showed that 50 ppm. of gibberellin produced even larger grapes, while 100 or 1000 ppm. produced long, giant-size grapes
