Description
Craftsman Bungalow, located at 604 East Washington Avenue, Orange, California, 2003. Image shows front view of house originally designed and constructed in 1919 for Henry and Dora Peters at a cost of $3,000 by the Orange Contracting and Milling Company. This is a one-story bungalow with a double, front-facing gable roof and wide lap siding on the facades. Tapered piers on concrete bases support the entry porch covered by the forwardmost roof, with ornamental purlins supporting the eaves. A photograph of the home was featured on page 38 of "Beautiful Orange Homes," a promotional brochure from the early 1920s that featured examples of design and construction by Orange Contracting & Milling Company.
