Accession number: P6355 See accession number P657 for view of exterior. Hotel Valencia bar, located at 182 W. Center Street (corner of Lemon and Center Streets, later Lemon and Lincoln Avenue); built in 1916 by John Ziegler for $40,000 and designed by architect M. Eugene Durfee,on the same site as two previous hotels, the Anaheim Hotel and the Commercial Hotel; image shows view of bar located inside hotel with two men standing behind the bar, indentified left to right as Tom Hedges (bartender) and John Ziegler (owner); a third man identified as Mr. Thomas (milk man) is holding a pipe in his right had and standing in front of the bar; cash register, liquor bottles and glassware are visible behind the bar; two spittoons are visible along foot-rail in front of bar; a wooden barrel and double wooden doors leading to the dining room are visible at far right; wall clock and various posters visible hanging on wall-papered walls at background right; four-light ceiling light visible at top of photo.
