Description
Color slide of the kitchen in a Minimum Energy Dwelling in Mission Viejo, California in 1976. Two Cordova homes were used in the Minimum Energy Dwelling Project that was organized by Energy Research Development Administration (ERDA), Southern California Gas Company, Mission Viejo Company, and Burt Hill Kosar Rittelmann Associates. The kitchen has a vaulted ceiling. The walls are covered in dark wood cupboards and a wallpaper that has pictures of watermelons, pineapples, and other fruits in shades of peach and rust with a blue and white background. The photograph also captures a cream-colored refrigerator, a stove top oven, sink, and a portion of a dinette set. The frame of the slide has a label that reads, "76-006, Frame 028."
