Identified: George Asato Nakano, Mildred Yaeko Nakano, Viola Sadako Nakano, Geraldine Setsuko Nakano holding Carol Misae Nakano, Viola Uyemura Tsuruda, Mitsuo Tsuruda, Misao Gyotoku Nakano holding Alan Takeji Nakano, Asataro Nakano, George Asato Nakano, Jr., Kenji Burton Matsuda, Margaret Shigeko Nakano Matsuda, June Sachiko Matsuda, Elaine Akiko Matsuda (seated), Yoshiaki Matsuda, Jean Kimiko Matsuda, Ronald M. Tsuruda, Dennis Denji Matsuda (seated), Ann Noriko Tsuruda Okuno, Barbara Masako Tsuruda, Ted Teruo Okuno. Photograph from the Nakano family album. Asataro Nakano and Misao Gyotoku Nakano immigrated from Japan in the early 1900s. They settled in West Sacramento where they purchased land to farm. Their three children are: Margaret Shigeko Nakano, Ruth Kikue Nakano, and George Asato Nakano. The Nakano family and extended family members were sent to Amache Relocation Center during the Internment period. Upon release they settled in Denver, Colorado.
