Description
Responding to Rhodes' letter of December 21 (see Dbase #428), Bird writes, "My own opinion is that it is a little premature in the interest of the welfare of all groups in America, the proper guarding of the constitutional rights of every minority and the wellbeing [sic] of our Japanese Americans for them to return." He adds, "However, they have a right to return according to the laws of our land 26" Bird also expresses "good wishes" to the American Friends Service Committee for their work.
