Description
St. John's Lutheran Community Music Conservatory, located at 171 South Center Street, Orange, California, 2003. Image shows front view of the conservatory, which was the former parsonage for St. John's Lutheran Church constructed in 1920 by the Orange Contracting and Milling Company. This is a two-story Prairie-influenced box plan with dual and wide windows. A large walk-over porch is supported by columns. The porch railing matched the split-level roof decoration, and the second level has an archway opening. A photograph of the structure was featured on page 5 of "Beautiful Orange Homes," a promotional brochure from the early 1920s that featured examples of design and construction by Orange Contracting & Milling Company. Building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992, with the church building and Walker Hall. Digital image Color 3000 x 2000 pixels
