Description
Accession number: P5647 Printed on bottom, front of mount board "Westervelt, 18 S. Main Street, Los Angeles, Cal." Portrait of Herman A. Dickel, ca. 1890; image shows bust-length view of sitter, with mustache, wearing a dark jacket, white shirt and light tie with stick pin; Herman Dickel was born in Germany and came to America in 1883; upon arrival in Anaheim, Dickel worked for Augustus Langenberger, eventually purchased Langenberger's store and ran it until the early 1920s; served as a City Trustee and was known for his beautiful singing voice.
