Description
Ponies being led and ridden are part of the Melon Carnival parade in Turlock, California, circa 1912. At the far end of the street can be seen the Ferris Wheel. The second building on the right is the Turlock Rochdale Company. It was a local co-op store that was a part of the larger Rochdale Wholesale Company in San Francisco. Note the large striped awning over the entrance to the Santos Coffee Store. Visible at the far end of the block is the tower of the St. Elmo Hotel.
