Description
First National Bank was the first bank established in Turlock in 1905. It was sold and chartered by Horace Crane in 1907 as the Commercial Bank of Turlock. This interior photo is of the second building built at Center and Main Streets. The tall pillars and the front of the tellers' counter are of marble. Note the two spittoons set on the floor for the spitting use of those who chewed tobacco. Verso: A. M. Morton, F. W. Hosmer, L. T. Brown, 1911, Commercial Bank of Turlock, E. Main & Center Sts, Turlock, W. W. Ferguson at Bkkp. (bookkeeper) desk in rear.
