Description
Orange County Park boating on lake, Orange, California, ca. 1918. The boat lake was dug in 1913 in the bed of an old marsh and filled from underground springs. The boathouse visible in background was constructed in 1914. Postcard image shows three boats with people rowing on the lake, with a woman and young girl are on a bench under a tree at far right. In 1928 the park was renamed Irvine Regional Park. Image is inscribed in white text in lower right corner, "BOATING, ORANGE CO. PARK CAL."
