Description
Turlock's Melon Carnival was such a success they included a Ferris Wheel in the second one held in 1912. Subsequent carnivals were not held on Main Street but at various locations until the Legion and Auxiliary purchased a twelve acre site. After 1934 the carnival was transformed into the 38th District Fair, and the site became known as the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds.
