Description
The Eltiste Calliope in the Orange Harvest Festival Parade, Orange, California, September 13, 1947. The parade is turning south on South Glassell from the Plaza and the calliope is facing southeast. An early model automobile with a sign FRED'S RETREADS is in front of the calliope, with JOHNSON'S HOME - AUTO SUPPLIES FIRESTONE occupying the Campbell block. Orange Building and Loan Association is in the southeast corner, and to the south of it is signage RADIO and ROOMS. People line the sidewalks. On the west side of the corner is a directional road side for Olive, Irvine Park, Santa Ana Canyon and Riverside. The Eltiste Calliope was used as the final entry for all parades in Orange County, California for many years.
